Ashtakoota Guna Milan

Free Vedic Compatibility &
Kundli Milan (36 Guna Matching)

Thirty-six points, and where yours actually go.

Eight kootas, each scored and explained rather than added up. Arivyah applies the cancellations tradition allows, names the weakest match instead of burying it, and writes what it means for how two people live together.

Guna Milan

Eight kootas, thirty-six points

Each koota weighs a different dimension of a match, and they aren't weighted equally — Nadi alone carries eight of the thirty-six points, Varna carries one. That distribution is the whole reason a total on its own tells you so little.

Arivyah gives you every koota with its score, what it measured and why it landed there.

Questions

About matching

Is a low score a reason not to marry?add

No, and Arivyah will never tell you to marry or not to. Guna Milan measures specific traditional factors, not love, effort, values or circumstance. Plenty of low-scoring pairs build good lives together and plenty of high-scoring ones don't. Treat the score as a conversation starter about where friction is likely, not a verdict.

What score is considered good?add

Traditionally 18 of 36 is the threshold for an acceptable match, 24 and above is considered strong, and above 30 is rare. But the distribution across kootas matters more than the total — 20 points spread evenly reads very differently from 20 points with a zero in Bhakoot.

What are dosha cancellations?add

Classical texts define conditions under which an apparent affliction doesn't apply — friendly sign lords, identical nakshatras, both charts Manglik. Many calculators report the dosha and stop, leaving people alarmed about something tradition itself waives. Arivyah applies the cancellation rules and shows an adjusted score alongside the raw one.

Can I match charts for family members?add

You can match any two saved charts, but Guna Milan was designed for prospective partners — the kootas measure marital factors specifically. Arivyah labels each chart by relationship and will flag it if you pick a pair the system wasn't designed for, rather than silently producing a meaningless number.

Does it need both birth times?add

The eight kootas are calculated from Moon sign and nakshatra, which are relatively forgiving about time. Manglik status depends on house positions and therefore needs accurate times for both charts. Where a time is uncertain, that part of the analysis is less reliable.

Do I get a written report?add

Yes — seven sections covering where you stand, communication, emotional bond, closeness, family and money, the long road, and concrete suggestions. It exports as a PDF. It is written from the computed numbers and cannot invent placements.
